If nothing else, try doing this one thing, and see what happens.
Honestly, the best part of Twitter is engaging with people’s tweets

Back in December I went on a bit of a tweeting binge. I wrote out a bunch of them ahead of time and automated them using Feedhive. It was nice having them all prepared, and not having to worry about posting things manually.

That’s still a lot of work, to sit down and create all of those tweets.

Not Quite As Tedious

What doesn’t feel like work is just responding to other people’s tweets, and chiming in where appropriate (or relevant).

Arguably, that will be more worthwhile — or at least as worthwhile — as whatever contrived tweets I was going to pre-create. And there’s a good chance that these replies will get more views, likes, shares, etc.

Yeah, yeah, Nick. We all know that engaging with others on Twitter is important. You’re not saying anything new, bro!

No, I’m not. I’m mostly reminding myself that it’s beneficial to just be a decent person and chat with folks on a social network. You know, that whole “being social” thing.

Often Easier to Provide Value When Replying

Unlike trying to guess what others might find valuable, the chances of providing value are much higher when offering genuine help to someone who is asking a question or in search of a solution.

It’s one of the reasons that people enjoy (and recommend) writing on Quora. You’re literally just answering someone’s question.

I’d rather do it on Twitter, I think. It feels more conversational and you never know who else might come across your tweets (thanks, algorithm). I’ve made some interesting connections this way.
